Checkout the story of March of Dimes 2009 Ambassador Rachel Blythe as told by her parents, Dwayne and Nancy Blythe: "Rachel was born 14 weeks early, weighing in at 2 lb. 10 oz. at birth. Now three years old, she is attending preschool fulltime. She listens to EVERYTHING and wants to learn. She overall has a terrific spirit and so far is well liked by all her teachers at school. They all say she is their shining star. Rachel still does not talk or walk YET. She scoots across the floor to go where she wants. She recently had surgery on her right foot to help loosen muscles in that leg. Verbally, she is learning some sign language with her therapist. She can say a few words such as bye-bye, momma, daddy, nana, dog, and communicates YES or NO by shaking her head. She can sign most of the farm animals. She tries hard to speak, but hasn't gotten it yet ... but it will come soon. Her 4-year-old brother Kendal is a tremendous help in trying to help her talk." So, as you can see, Rachel Blythe is a miracle baby whose quality of life is getting better every day, and no doubt this child will someday be a healthy adult woman productively supporting society. In closing, Thursday, May 14, 2009 is Bank Day. Preregistered Corporate and Company teams are reminded to turn in their contributions and pick-up T-shirts from SunTrust Bank between 11:00 A.M. through 2:00 P.M. at 117 West Second Avenue in Franklin, Virginia.
